EMR
While working at Pioneer Family Medicine I have assisted the facility with implementing a new computer system with the help of eClinicalWorks. We went from paper charts to Electronic Medical Records that were accessible to the provider before the entered the exam room and to the patient as soon as they left their appointment making it convenient and secure for patients to access their medical records.
Vaccines for Children
My everyday task at Pioneer Family Medicine, other than ensuring everyone was taken care of, was the responsibility of Immunizations in the office. I completed all testing and implemented a better way to track immunizations through the new EMR system, Every week the Immunizations are all accounted for and tracked. The process was made easier which made the office and well child checks run more efficiently. Every vaccine a child has had throughout their lifetime was in the system and the system was able to populate exactly which vaccines were to be administered on a certain date, this was completed by utilizing the Idaho Immunization Reminder Information System (IRIS) and the eClinicalWorks and coming up with a system that made the IRIS vaccines automatically update/ populate into our EMR.
Botox
I was recently employed at The CORE Institute where I was the sole employee that handled any and every Botox order, we recently employed several Neurologists who perform Botox injections in clinic for patients with chronic migraines, spasticity, blepharospasm, torticollis, and other conditions, I had taken over this project completely and worked with both the patients and the providers to obtain prior authorizations for the administration and medication, I would obtain the medications from the specialty pharmacies that are contracted with the patient's medical or pharmacy benefits.
